Biography
Elliott Idol is a doctoral student at the School of Criminal Justice at Michigan State University, and he graduated from the University of Maryland in 2024 with a B.A. in Psychology and Criminology & Criminal Justice. His research interests focus on police misconduct and police culture, and he is currently working on several papers with his advisor, Dr. Kutnjak Ivković, examining police sexual violence in South Africa. Elliott is also working with Dr. Wilson to contribute to the 30x30 Initiative, synthesizing literature to better inform law enforcement hiring and recruitment practices. Elliott is the current president of the Graduate Student Association (GSA) and serves as an editorial manager for Policing: An International Journal (PIJ).
