Dr. Chris Melde elected to serve as Executive Counselor of ASC

Photo of Dr. Chris MeldeDr. Chris Melde, Professor in the School of Criminal Justice and Faculty Athletics Representative in the Office of the President at Michigan State University, has been elected to serve as an Executive Counselor of the American Society of Criminology (ASC). ASC is an international organization that promotes scientific and professional knowledge around crime and delinquency.

In this role, Dr. Melde will work with the Executive Board of ASC to advance the mission of the organization. Dr. Melde says “Being elected to serve as an Executive Counselor for the American Society of Criminology is quite an honor. The ASC is the world’s largest criminological academic organization and has benefited me in so many ways over the years. Having the opportunity to give back and help guide the organization over the next few years is something I relish and will do my best to grow the organization in size and influence.”
